Vlada's Everest Trek for a Cure
Story
Hi All
In February 2012, I will be embarking on an epic fundraising adventure Trek for a Cure: Everest Challenge 2012. This challenge is on behalf of Cure Cancer Australia Foundation, an organisation that is the only National cancer research charity exclusively dedicated to funding young researchers across all types of cancer. The reason I have chosen to undertake this challenge is because I would like to help young researchers to find a cure for cancer.
We start the adventure by trekking from Lukla, Nepal and in 12 days we should reach Everest Base Camp at the altitude of 5,400 meters.
It’s a very long way from the Perth; I will need to get very fit to cope with hike in Himalayas up to 6-8 hours a day in a winter, battling high mountain sickness and cold. However, I see it as an opportunity to do something worthwhile for a great cause. We are hoping to raise over $50,000 as a team for Cure Cancer from this event.
I have pledged to raise a minimum $5,000 and I need your help to reach my target.
